Peter Douglas Monson (Peter Monson) – Financial Advisor/Broker Peter Monson Suspended from Securities Industry | Goodman & Nekvasil, P.A. May Recover Investor Losses

Peter Douglas Monson (Peter Monson) CRD #2203309

Peter Monson is a currently licensed financial advisor/broker with Van Clemens & Co. Incorporated. According to FINRA, Peter Monson was fined $7,500 and suspended from the securities industry for six months in March 2020.

According to FINRA Allegations:

Peter Monson consented to the sanctions and to the entry of findings that Peter Monson engaged in excessive and unsuitable trading in the Individual Retirement Account (IRA) of his customer. The findings stated that Peter Monson actively traded risky, microcap stocks in the customer’s account, even though the account value had declined by more than 60% since its inception and the customer was facing a serious illness. This decline resulted not only from investment losses and commissions charged for trades, but also from more than $138,000 in withdrawals that the customer used to help finance a family business. The findings also stated that when placing these trades in the customer’s account, Peter Monson regularly exercised discretion without the required authorization from either the customer or the firm for which he worked. Peter Monson also exercised discretion without written authorization when placing trades in the accounts of other customers.
