From 2008 until his firing in 2012, Owen Dudley was licensed with Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC. According to FINRA’s records, Owen Dudley was fired by Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC on January 17, 2012. Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC reported to FINRA that Owen Dudley was fired after Owen Dudley admitted to making trades without Owen Dudley first speaking with the client about the trades.
Following Owen Dudley’s discharge by Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, FINRA investigated Owen Dudley and brought a disciplinary action against Owen Dudley. Owen Dudley consented to a 15-day suspension and a $5,000 monetary fine. Owen Dudley also consented to findings that Owen Dudley violated FINRA rules by effecting discretionary transactions in accounts held by customers without Owen Dudley obtaining prior written authorization from the customers and without Owen Dudley having the accounts accepted as discretionary accounts by Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC.
According to FINRA records, a lawsuit was filed in 2012 alleging that Owen Dudley engaged in churning while employed with Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC. This lawsuit involving alleged misconduct by Owen Dudley was settled for $103,000 by Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC and Owen Dudley.
