Goodman & Nekvasil P.A., May Recover Investor Losses – Robert Clair Wheeling Jr. (Robert Wheeling) Fired by The Investment Center, Inc.
From 2011 until Robert Wheeling’s firing in 2012, Robert Wheeling was licensed with The Investment Center, Inc. Robert Wheeling was subsequently licensed with Summit Brokerage Services, Inc. Robert Wheeling was previously licensed with Questar Capital Corporation. According to FINRA’s records, Robert Wheeling was fired by The Investment Center, Inc. on March 28, 2012. The Investment Center, Inc. reported to FINRA that Robert Wheeling failed to comply with The Investment Center, Inc. procedures regarding the sale of fixed indexed annuities away from The Investment Center, Inc. which violated The Investment Center, Inc.’s policy.
Subsequent to Robert Wheeling’s firing from The Investment Center, Inc. FINRA investigated Robert Wheeling and brought a disciplinary action against Robert Wheeling. Robert Wheeling consented to a $5,000 fine and a 4 month suspension from the securities and investment banking industry. FINRA also reports that Robert Wheeling consented to findings that Robert Wheeling sold equity-indexed annuities (EIAs) to twenty-seven individuals outside the scope of Robert Wheeling’s employment with The Investment Center, Inc. and without providing The Investment Center, Inc. with prior written notice of the business activity. According to FINRA, Robert Wheeling’s undisclosed EIA sales totaled about $1,946,243. FINRA reports that by engaging in outside business activities without providing prior written notice to his employer member firm, Robert Wheeling violated FINRA Rules 3270 and 2010.
According to FINRA’s records, a complaint was filed involving Robert Wheeling’s conduct at Questar Capital Corporation. The complaint alleges unsuitable recommendations and was settled.
FINRA also reports that a second complaint involving Robert Wheeling’s conduct with Summit Brokerage Services is currently pending. This claim alleges unsuitable investments and mismanagement.
