Madison Timber Properties, LLC Involved in Ponzi Scheme, according to the SEC – Goodman & Nekvasil P.A. May Recover Investor Losses

Goodman & Nekvasil P.A. May Recover Investor Losses – Madison Timber Properties, LLC Involved in Ponzi Scheme, according to the SEC

The SEC recently filed a court action alleging that Madison Timber Properties, LLC committed securities fraud by operating a Ponzi scheme. The SEC alleges that Madison Timber Properties, LLC represented to investors that their monies would be used to acquire timber-harvesting rights from various landowners on behalf of investors, and that Madison Timber Properties, LLC would later harvest the timber and pay investors with the properties. According to the SEC, this venture is actually a Ponzi scheme, with earlier investors paid by Madison Timber Properties, LLC with funds obtained from newer investors. The SEC also alleges that investor funds were used by Madison Timber Properties, LLC for a variety of inappropriate ends, including the payment of personal expenses of Arthur Lamar Adams and to fund real estate investments.
