Goodman & Nekvasil P.A, May Recover Investor Losses – Lorenzo Esteva Fired by UBS Financial Services, Inc.
From 2015 until Lorenzo Esteva’s firing in 2017, Lorenzo Esteva was licensed with UBS Financial Services, Inc. Lorenzo Esteva was previously licensed with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated. According to FINRA’s records, Lorenzo Esteva was fired by UBS Financial Services, Inc. on June 6, 2017. UBS Financial Services, Inc. reported to FINRA that Lorenzo Esteva was fired after Lorenzo Esteva admitted to providing a client with documents containing false account information. UBS Financial Services, Inc. reports that further investigation found that Lorenzo Esteva (1) provided at least one more client with documents containing false account information and (2) improperly journaled money between unrelated client accounts.
Following Lorenzo Esteva’s firing by UBS Financial Services, Inc. FINRA investigated Lorenzo Esteva and brought a disciplinary action against Lorenzo Esteva. Lorenzo Esteva was permanently barred from the securities and investment banking industry on September 11, 2017. Lorenzo Esteva consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that Lorenzo Esteva failed to produce FINRA-requested documents and information as part of an investigation into customer complaints that Lorenzo Esteva provided falsified account statements to a customer from 2001 to 2017 and that Lorenzo Esteva improperly journaled funds between accounts of two unrelated customers.
FINRA reports that a complaint was filed involving Lorenzo Esteva’s conduct with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, alleging unauthorized trading and misrepresentation. This complaint was settled for $69,552.
FINRA also reports that two complaints involving Lorenzo Esteva’s conduct with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated and/or UBS Financial Services, Inc. are currently pending. These claims allege falsification of documents and signatures, unauthorized actions, and/or that Lorenzo Esteva provided false account statements.
