From 1989 to 2016, Karl Romero was licensed with LPL Financial, LLC. FINRA reports that ten complaints and/or arbitration claims were filed involving Karl Romero’s conduct with LPL Financial, LLC alleging unsuitable and overconcentrated investment recommendations, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and/or misrepresentation. All ten of these complaints and/or arbitration claims were settled, with the three largest settling for $160,000, $130,000, and $120,000. FINRA also reports that a previous arbitration claim involving Karl Romero’s conduct settled for $67,000.
According to FINRA records, a lawsuit was filed in 2013 alleging breach of fiduciary duty in connection with the purchase of five Limited Partnerships, Real Estate Investment Trusts, and Private Placement. This lawsuit involving Karl Romero was settled for $45,000.
FINRA also reports that an arbitration claim involving Karl Romero’s conduct with LPL Financial, LLC is currently pending. This claim alleges that losses were suffered as a result of unsuitable investment recommendations. This pending arbitration claim seeks damages of $250,000.
