Goodman & Nekvasil P.A, May Recover Investor Losses – Jason Hunter Likens Fired by International Assets Advisory, LLC and Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. 

From 2016 until Jason Likens’ firing in 2017, Jason Likens was licensed International Assets Advisory, LLC. Jason Likens was previously licensed with Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. According to FINRA’s records, Jason Likens was fired by International Assets Advisory, LLC on January 31, 2017. International Assets Advisory, LLC reported to FINRA that Jason Likens was fired for failing to respond to a FINRA request in violation of FINRA Rule 8210.

Prior to Jason Likens’ firing by International Assets Advisory, LLC, Jason Likens was also fired by Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. on August 3, 2016. Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. reported to FINRA that Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. commenced an internal review of Jason Likens regarding borrowing funds from a client. After Jason Likens admitted he had borrowed money from a client and Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. completed its internal review, Jason Likens’ employment was terminated. Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. reported to FINRA that Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. also had concerns regarding Jason Likens’ personal banking activities.

Following Jason Likens’ firing by both International Assets Advisory, LLC and Oppenheimer & Co., Inc., FINRA investigated Jason Likens and brought a disciplinary action against Jason Likens. Jason Likens was suspended from the securities and investment banking industry for 15 months and fined $10,000. Jason Likens consented to the sanctions and to FINRA findings that Jason Likens borrowed money from two customers, a total of $23,500, without disclosing these loans to the firm or receiving the firm’s approval to borrow from the customers, and that the loans did not meet any of the exceptions found in FINRA Rule 3240. The findings stated that Jason Likens did not repay the loans on schedule and did not begin to repay the loans until repeated requests were made by one of the customers and his family, and by the second customer. The findings also stated that Jason Likens made false attestations to his firm on annual compliance questionnaires that Jason Likens had not made loans or borrowed from any customer.

FINRA also reports that a complaint was filed, alleging that Jason Likens misrepresented the fees associated with a managed account. This complaint involving Jason Likens’ conduct with Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. was settled.
