Christopher Tolmacs was licensed with Triad Advisors, Inc. from 2008 to 2016. Christopher Tolmacs was barred from the securities and investment banking industry by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on March 10, 2016. Christopher Tolmacs consented to the sanction and to the entry of the findings that Christopher Tolmacs failed to fully respond to requests from FINRA for documents and information and refused to appear for the continuation of Christopher Tolmacs’ on-the-record testimony requested by FINRA during the course of an ongoing FINRA investigation, into whether Christopher Tolmacs had entered into lending agreements with several of his customers through the issuance of promissory notes, and assessing whether those arrangements violated FINRA Rules, whether Christopher Tolmacs made materially misleading statements and omissions in connection with those arrangements, and whether Christopher Tolmacs converted customer funds.
FINRA reports that a complaint was filed involving Christopher Tolmacs’ conduct with Harbinger Asset Management, LLC and Harbinger Financial Group, Inc. This complaint did not settle and went to final hearing. The arbitration panel found Christopher Tolmacs liable and ordered Christopher Tolmac to pay the claimants $1,200,000 in compensatory damages based on the arbitration panel’s finding of negligence, gross negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, willful wanton misconduct, conversion of funds, securities fraud, and violation of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934.
FINRA also reports that approximately 8 arbitration claims involving Christopher Tolmacs’ conduct with Triad Advisors, Inc. have been settled, with the largest settling for $225,000 and $146,000.
