MANUEL FRANCISCO MELENDEZ (CRD#: 4648278), a former broker for UBS FINANCIAL SERVICES INC. in GUAYNABO, PR, was recently barred permanently after the former broker consented to FINRA sanctions.

According to Melendez’s FINRA BrokerCheck report, Between October 2018 and February 2021, while registered through UBS, Melendez borrowed $738,000 from two firm customers through four separate loans without providing prior written notice to or obtaining written approval from UBS, in violation of FINRA Rules 3240 and 2010. Melendez used thousands of dollars from these loans to pay expenses unrelated to the loans’ purposes, in violation of FINRA Rules 2150(a) and 2010. Further, between May 2019 and April 2023, Melendez violated FINRA Rules 3270 and 2010 by engaging in two outside business activities without providing prior written notice to UBS and by failing to accurately disclose these activities when he belatedly notified UBS of them. For these violations, Melendez is barred from associating with any FINRA member in all capacities.
