Without admitting or denying the findings, Uyeda consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he refused to appear for on-the-record testimony requested by FINRA connection with an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a Form U5 filed by his member firm stating that it had discharged him for engaging in a series of personal loans totaling approximately $1.45 million from a client.
Uyeda consents to the imposition of the following sanctions: A bar from associating with any FINRA member in all capacities.
Lyle H. Uyeda (CRD#: 2637150) is a former broker with PlanMember Securities Corporation in Mililani, HI. He was terminated after the firm alleged he took a series of personal loans totaling about $1.45 million from a client. The firm also stated Uyeda did not notify or obtain approval before entering into these loans.
Uyeda Investigated After His Employer Terminates Him for Borrowing Money
Borrowing money from clients violates FINRA Rule 3240 (Borrowing From or Lending to Customers). This rule bans brokers from borrowing money from clients unless the client is an immediate family member or the firm approves the arrangement under specific conditions. Uyeda’s actions led to a FINRA investigation. On September 9, 2025, FINRA barred Uyeda after he refused to appear for on-the-record testimony. He is now permanently barred from associating with any FINRA member firm. Investors who suffered financial losses with Uyeda may be able to recover money through FINRA arbitration.
