KYLE JOSHUA CHARTERS (CRD#: 6288496), a broker for INNER CIRCLE SPORTS LLC in New York, NY, was recently suspended for six-months, and fined $10,000.00 after the broker consented to FINRA sanctions.

Charters consented to the sanctions and to the entry of findings that he participated in a private securities transaction involving the sale of a limited partnership interest in an offering without notifying or receiving written approval from his member firm prior to his participation in the transaction.

The findings stated that the offering was sponsored by a private equity firm that Charters was hoping to join. The purchaser was an institutional investor who was not Charters’ customer at his firm, and the sale was outside the regular course and scope of his employment with it.

Charters’ participation included attending meetings with the investor about the limited partnership interest and editing marketing materials for the fund. The sale was completed when the investor committed approximately 1.4 percent of its assets in exchange for the limited partnership interest, according to Charters’ FINRA BrokerCheck report.
