Deyon Robertson (CRD#: 7493659), a former broker associated with Finalis Securities LLC, was disciplined by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) for recommending an illiquid private real estate fund that FINRA found was not in a retail customer’s best interest and for participating in an outside securities transaction without providing the required written notice to his firm.
According to FINRA disciplinary action No. 2024080112401, accepted on October 21, 2026, Robertson received a five-month suspension, a $10,000 fine, and an order to pay $2,400 plus interest in partial restitution to a customer.
The action concerned a $48,000 investment recommendation that represented more than 25% of the customer’s liquid net worth. FINRA found that Robertson failed to adequately consider the customer’s financial circumstances and liquidity needs. The customer later sought to withdraw part of her investment because of financial hardship but was unable to liquidate it.
FINRA also found that Robertson solicited three Finalis customers to invest $44,000 each in an outside house-flipping venture without first providing the firm with written notice of the transaction.
Robertson accepted FINRA’s findings through a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent without admitting or denying them.
Investors who purchased private placements or real estate investments recommended by Robertson and believe those investments were unsuitable for their financial circumstances may wish to consult an attorney about their options for recovering losses.
