Goodman & Nekvasil, P.A., a Clearwater, Florida, law firm with a national practice representing victimized investors, continues to investigate brokers that placed investors in high-risk and fraudulent investments, including Dawn Bennett.

In August 2017, the SEC filed a complaint against Dawn Bennett alleging that Dawn Bennett raised more than $20 million from at least 46 investors through the unregistered offering of DJ Bennett convertible and promissory notes.  The SEC further alleged that Dawn Bennett made materially false and misleading statements and omissions concerning, among other things, DJ Bennett’s financial condition and operating performance, the risks associated with the investment, and the intended use of investor proceeds.

A Criminal Complaint was also issued against Dawn Bennett in August 2017.  The sworn affidavit submitted by an FBI agent in support of the Criminal Complaint alleged that an analysis of the bank account that Dawn Bennett used in connection with the DJ Bennett Holding, LLC, Secure Convertible Note found activity consistent with a Ponzi scheme and misappropriation of investor funds.

This is because Western International Securities, Inc., had a duty to supervise Dawn Bennett, from the period between at least October 2009 and December 2015.
