David Hobby was a previously licensed financial advisor with UBS Financial Services, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. UBS Financial Services, Inc. reported to FINRA that David Hobby was discharged in 2018 after firm’s review found that David Hobby (i) exercised discretion in client account without written authorization, in violation of Order Entry Policy, (ii) failed to escalate same client’s complaint, in violation of Customer Complaint Policy, and (iii) worked against firm’s interests by assisting that client in efforts to procure settlement from firm.

FINRA reports that 3 customer complaints involving David Hobby’s conduct were settled in 2018. These complaints alleged, among other allegations, that David Hobby recommended unsuitable, risky and over-concentrated investments, executed excessive transactions and exercised discretion without written authorization. FINRA reports that one of these complaints settled for $350,000.
