FINRA reports that The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has a pending civil court action against Christopher McClure in 2017. The action alleges that Christopher McClure and Westport Capital Markets, LLC violated their fiduciary duty and defrauded their clients when they obtained standing authority to make investment decisions in client accounts, and misused that authority when they repeatedly purchased securities in client accounts that generated undisclosed mark-ups and fees for themselves.
FINRA reports an arbitration claim was filed involving Christopher McClure’s conduct with Westport Capital Markets alleging negligence, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, omissions and misrepresentations. This arbitration claim was settled for $137,000.
