Hugh Earl Cating (CRD # 2240164, Registered Principal, Mooresville, North Carolina) was barred from association with any FINRA member in any capacity. The sanction was based on findings that Cating failed to provide documents and information in response to FINRA requests and failed to provide testimony, which FINRA requested. The findings stated that Cating failed to execute a customer’s order to cancel a variable annuity policy and to provide a refund within 10 days of receiving the policy, which caused the customer to incur surrender fees of approximately $37,172.
